¡Che mozo! Sirva un trago más de caña, yo tomo sin motivo y sin razón; no lo hago por amor que es vieja maña, tampoco pa’engañar al corazón. No tengo un mal recuerdo que me aturda, no tengo que olvidar una traición, yo tomo porque sí… ¡de puro curda! Pa’mi es siempre buena la ocasión. Y a mi, qué me importa que diga la gente que paso la vida en un mostrador. Por eso no dejo de ser bien decente, no pierdo mi hombría ni enturbio mi honor. Me gusta y por eso, le pego al escabio, a nadie provoco ni obligo jamás y al fin, si tomando me hago algún daño, lo hago conmigo… ¡De curda nomás! Si un hombre pa’tomar un trago e’caña precisa la traición de una mujer, no es hombre, no se cura, no se engaña. ¡Es maula p’al sufrir y p’al perder! Yo tengo bien templado el de la zurda no tomo p’aguantar un tropezón, yo tomo porque sí… ¡De puro curda! Pa’mi es siempre buena la ocasión.

Hey bartender! Pour one more glass of rum I drink for no reason and without a motive; I don’t do for love, that is an old trick, neither to delude the heart. I don’t have a bad memory that stuns me, I don’t have to forget a betrayal, I drink just because… of being a plain drunkard! For me any occasion is always good. I don’t care that people may say that I spend my life on a bar counter. Because of that I don’t stop being decent I don’t lose my manhood or tarnish my honor. I like it, and that’s why, I hit the bottle, I don’t provoke nor forced anybody and finally, if drinking is harmful to me, I do it to myself … because I’m  a drunkard! If a man to drink a swig of rum needs the betrayal of a woman, he’s not a man, he has no cure, he fools no one. He’s a trickster for suffering and to losing! I have a well-tempered heart on the left side I do not drink to endure a fall I drink because I do …being a pure drunkard! For me any occasion is always good.
